El 27 de febrero se celebra en todo el mundo el d\u00eda de las ONG,.<\/sup> fue reconocido oficialmente en el IX Foro de ONG del Mar B\u00e1ltico por el Consejo de los Estados del Mar B\u00e1ltico, el 17 de abril de 2010 y desde 2014, la aclamaci\u00f3n mundial del D\u00eda Mundial de las ONG ha crecido significativamente, celebrado por varias comunidades, l\u00edderes internacionales, alcaldes de ciudades, empresas y muchas organizaciones de todo el mundo.
En el marco de esta celebraci\u00f3n, queremos presentar la historia de Arboretum Cholul AC -Arboretum (en lat\u00edn un lugar plantado de \u00e1rboles) y Cholul (nombre del poblado en Yucat\u00e1n)-, una organizaci\u00f3n que tiene el objetivo de conservar frutales en peligro de extinci\u00f3n que formaban parte importante de la gastronom\u00eda de la cultura Maya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aqu\u00ed, \u00c1ngel Guillermo Pech Blanco, estudiante de cuarto semestre de Ingenier\u00eda Agron\u00f3mica en el Tecnol\u00f3gico Nacional de M\u00e9xico, campus Conkal, asiste y participa con la comunidad en el rescate, limpieza y riego de las plantas que ah\u00ed se encuentran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEsto es de gran importancia para nuestros estudiantes ya que se cumplen importantes metas que se relacionan con el proyecto Transformando la Educaci\u00f3n Superior: detectar \u00e1reas de colaboraci\u00f3n, donde comunidad e instituciones puedan trabajar en conjunto para resolver problemas en beneficio de la comunidad. Estas y las otras especies del jard\u00edn son importantes porque se encuentran en peligro de extinci\u00f3n debido a la tala de monte para la ganader\u00eda o son subutilizados, productos que fueron de importancia comercial y que hoy en d\u00eda ha disminuido su presencia popular en los mercados locales y han dejado de ser apreciados o desconocidos por las familias peninsulares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEl cuidado de la flora y fauna es de gran importancia a nivel mundial, en especial en estos d\u00edas donde el cambio clim\u00e1tico y el ser humano han repercutido con la p\u00e9rdida de especies de importancia m\u00e9dica y alimentaria. De igual manera, el uso de especies introducidas (provenientes de otras regiones o pa\u00edses), han hecho que plantas nativas de gran importancia para la alimentaci\u00f3n, medicina, cultura etc.; sean desplazadas, queden en el olvido y se encuentren en peligro de extinci\u00f3n\u201d, cierra Gamboa.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan Patrimonio Biocultural, menos de la mitad de los frutales prehisp\u00e1nicos de origen americano son cultivados. De igual manera existe una variedad de especies frutales con un alto potencial alimenticio que son desaprovechados y desconocidos por la mayor\u00eda de las personas y m\u00e1s en la ciudad, pues solo son recolectados en el campo. Por lo que es necesario promover estrategias de conservaci\u00f3n para mantener la diversidad biol\u00f3gica, cultural y alimentaria de Yucat\u00e1n. Pues la preservaci\u00f3n del germoplasma tal y como menciona<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hern\u00e1ndez y Le\u00f3n (1992) se basar\u00e1 en el desarrollo de mercados y tecnolog\u00edas para el manejo agron\u00f3mico y la preparaci\u00f3n para el consumo.
