Desde inicios del 2020 el mundo est\u00e1 viviendo una situaci\u00f3n sin precedentes debido a la pandemia provocada por el COVID-19. Con aproximadamente 138 millones de contagiados a nivel mundial (abril 2021), todos los sectores de la sociedad tuvieron que ajustarse para implementar las medidas de seguridad correspondientes mientras la humanidad segu\u00eda aprendiendo sobre el virus y tratando de volver \u201ca la normalidad\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Las universidades tuvieron que encontrar formas de continuar los procesos educativos mientras sus campus estaban cerrados a los estudiantes y recurrieron al uso de otras herramientas educativas innovadoras. Desde clases virtuales, modelos h\u00edbridos, gu\u00edas digitales y ajustes en los sistemas de comunicaci\u00f3n, los docentes, las instituciones y la comunidad estudiantil buscaron formas de trabajar de manera sin\u00e9rgica y colaborativa para lograr sus objetivos educativos comunes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

En M\u00e9xico, espec\u00edficamente el estado de Yucat\u00e1n, se encuentra el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Conkal (IT Conkal), una instituci\u00f3n donde sus 250 estudiantes de la carrera de agronom\u00eda han experimentado los cambios realizados por el equipo docente y administrativo que, de la mano de los componentes del proyecto Transforming Higher Education, han ayudado a sobrellevar los estragos de la pandemia.<\/p>

Para que los estudiantes pudieran seguir implementando t\u00e1cticas de aprendizaje experiencial, el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Conkal hab\u00eda implementado \"d\u00edas de campo\"<\/strong><\/span> donde los alumnos realizaban pr\u00e1cticas. Con la pandemia, el staff estudi\u00f3 cada caso asesor\u00f3 y organiz\u00f3 a los estudiantes para que integraran diversas propuesta de proyectos a desarrollarse tanto en el sector p\u00fablico, como privado o bien en sus comunidades y en algunos casos trabajan con sus propias familias, implementando diversas estrategias innovadoras de producci\u00f3n o bien apoyando los procesos productivos locales.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Esto ha implicado cambios significativos en el modelo de ense\u00f1anza, sin embargo ha generado importantes beneficios. A continuaci\u00f3n, se mencionan algunas de las estrategias que el Instituto ha implementado:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Sin duda el entorno virtual es el principal aliado de los profesores en este contexto. Aunque se tienen limitantes en comunidades alejadas como acceso a internet, acceso de dispositivos inteligentes por parte de los estudiantes, entre otros.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Con el objetivo de fortalecer los v\u00ednculos entre la comunidad estudiantil y docente se crearon nuevos canales de comunicaci\u00f3n y difusi\u00f3n, entre los que destacan, la apertura a trav\u00e9s de la plataforma TEAMS de un grupo de asesoramiento en t\u00e9cnicas de cultivo (Agr\u00edcolas y Pecuarias), y el desarrollo del 1er foro estudiantil,\u201cExperiencias adquiridas durante las pr\u00e1cticas de campo\u201d,<\/em> en donde, la retroalimentaci\u00f3n, reflexi\u00f3n, intercambio de vivencias y sugerencias son algunos de los rubros de interacci\u00f3n entre la comunidad estudiantil y docente.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cMuchos estudiantes hacen grandes esfuerzos para continuar estudiando. En este sentido, el trabajo colaborativo en equipo que desarrollan los estudiantes, as\u00ed como el seguimiento y la asesor\u00eda por parte del instituto, ha contribuido en que se sientan motivados a continuar trabajando. Algunas veces, incluso viajan a otras comunidades donde puedan conectarse a internet, solo para mantenernos al tanto y eso lo valoramos y agradecemos\u201d menciona Jorge Gamboa, Facilitador del proyecto Transformando la Educaci\u00f3n Superior en el IT Conkal.<\/em> students go to great lengths to continue studying. In this case, the collaborative teamwork done by the students, as well as the monitoring and advice by the institute, has contributed to their motivation to continue working. Adicionalmente, se lleva un control minucioso de los proyectos y se le pide a los estudiantes informes mensuales y se implementaron otros medios de comunicaci\u00f3n como WhatsApp y redes sociales.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Dado que la mayor\u00eda de los proyectos se hacen en las comunidades, el staff de la instituci\u00f3n implementa un plan de visitas in situ que complementa todo el seguimiento digital que se realiza. Para esto, seleccionan aleatoriamente proyectos y coordinan una sesi\u00f3n de visitas guidas de forma presencial. Esto es complicado sobre todo porque los estudiantes se encuentran en diferentes \u00e1reas de influencia que incluye 35 de los 106 municipios que conforman el Estado de Yucat\u00e1n.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cInclusive nos reclaman en broma los estudiantes, el por qu\u00e9 no hemos ido a visitarlos. Lo que demuestra el nivel de compromiso que tienen. Trabajamos para poder ir a la mayor cantidad de comunidades que nos sea posible\u201d, dice Jorge Gamboa.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La actitud de los profesores ha sido primordial para la ejecuci\u00f3n de esta t\u00e1ctica. Sin su apoyo ni disposici\u00f3n, el acompa\u00f1amiento quedar\u00eda incompleto.<\/p>

Adicionalmente, una de las ventajas que ha tenido el IT Conkal ha sido la participaci\u00f3n directa de los directivos, algo que inclusive ha sido muy importante para las \u00faltimas dos promociones, quienes no han tenido la posibilidad de tener la experiencia presencial de la vida universitaria y por ende podr\u00edan carecer de ese sentido de pertenencia institucional.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cEl equipo ha entendido que este proyecto es 24\/7 y est\u00e1 orientado al apoyo de los estudiantes, tratamos de visitar a la mayor cantidad posible. La pandemia gener\u00f3 cambios en la din\u00e1mica social de todos y ellos mismos no son la excepci\u00f3n. Sus padres se quedaron sin trabajo y en muchos casos ellos tuvieron que apoyar econ\u00f3micamente a sus familias. En este sentido para que no dejaran la universidad, hemos incluso adaptado clases en la noche, los fines de semana, en horarios individuales, etc. Esto, sin el apoyo y la disposici\u00f3n de los docentes, es imposible de lograr\u201d, aclara Gamboa.<\/em> Jorge<\/em> Gamboa.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

El logro m\u00e1s importante que se ha obtenido es estar formando mejores profesionales y seres humanos, a trav\u00e9s de la responsabilidad comunitaria, resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos y m\u00e1s. En conjunto con los elementos del \u00e9xito de Transforming Higher Education, se han reforzado las habilidades de liderazgo de los estudiantes adem\u00e1s de fortalecer su confianza.<\/p>
